We are a full service kiteboarding school with instruction for all levels and top-of-the line gear. Our one-on-one instruction gives students the security and confidence to make efficient and continuous progress seamlessly.

LESSONS ARE IN 3 BLOCKS

BLOCK 1

GROUND CLASS - learn theory,
safety measures, self-rescue and
kite maneuvering. Duration: 1hr.
Proceed to water instruction with boat support to learn kite control and body
drag exercises (maneuver using your body to drag on the water as you
fly the kite). Duration: 2+ hrs.*

BODY DRAGS & WATERSTARTS -
Learn to place the board to get up
and start riding. Continue with
kite control to start riding in both directions. Class with boat support. Duration: 2+ hrs.*

BLOCK 3

RIDE THE BOARD - continue to practice riding in both directions, focus on stance and kite control as you ride. Class with boat support. Duration: 2+ hrs.

PRICING AND RATES

Ground Lesson: US$100/hr

Water Lesson: US$145/hr 

Lessons include all the gear and one-on-one instruction.
Additionally water lessons include boat support.

We are IKO Certified and offer kiteboarding instruction for kiters of all levels, with English and Spanish speaking instructors for your reference.

OUR STORY

Cache Basave, owner of The Kite Zone began kiteboarding in 2005, fell in love with the sport and became an instructor in 2007. He is involved with the local community in Bucerías and Riviera Nayarit and collaborated in the organization of El Festival del Viento since 2010 which is a national event that brings kiters from all around Mexico to participate in an amateur competition. He is also a member of the AMK (Mexican Kiteboarding Association) geared towards promoting kiteboarding instruction in Mexico. In 2012 he began course racing and has competed in the North American’s Championship in San Francisco and The World’s in Cagliari, Italy, and China.
